Types of Braces
Dr. Rosenzweig utilizes the most progressive, innovative, and effective types of orthodontic braces available today. These braces are referred to as self-ligating or reduced friction braces. Our practice was the first in Central Oregon to utilize self-ligation (Damon & In-Ovation braces) and continues to stay on the cutting edge of technologic advancements in orthodontics. This technology, along with thorough diagnosis & treatment planning, enables Dr. Rosenzweig to provide his patients with the highest quality of care in a gentle & comfortable manner.
In-Ovation® R / System "R" Braces
When the In-Ovation® R bracket was introduced, Dr. Rosenzweig was privileged to be one of its earliest users and has become one of the most experienced users of this bracket in the country. Because of the System R's advanced self-ligating system and our super-elastic archwires, teeth move more efficiently. Faster, yet precise, tooth movement means shorter treatment time without the discomfort often associated with frequent wire tightening and elastic changes that are required with traditional braces.
Shorter Treatment Time, Fewer Visits, and Shorter Office Visits
Not only can overall treatment time be reduced with System R, fewer appointments and shorter appointments can be expected. Wire changes with System R can take less than one-quarter the time needed for changes with traditional braces. Since fewer wire changes are needed with System R, fewer appointments are needed, so there is less disruption in your busy day to day schedule.
Cleaner & Sleeker than Traditional Braces
The profile of the System R bracket is up to 25% lower than other self-ligating braces. System R's sleek low profile and mini size means less irritation, and better appearance; and the smaller size makes them easier to clean. Plus, since there are no elastic ties to trap food and absorb moisture, they are easier to keep clean.
Dr. Rosenzweig has had extensive experience using the Damon brackets & system. Dr. Rosenzweig received his orthodontic training at the same center as Dr. Dwight Damon's son, Paul. As a result of this situation, the University of Rochester Orthodontic Program became the first residency program in the country to allow its students to treat patients with the Damon brackets. Upon graduating from his orthodontic residency, Dr. Rosenzweig was fortunate to practice with & learn from Drs. Michael Stewart & Melisa Rathburn for two years. Drs. Stewart & Rathburn were instrumental in the development of the Damon bracket and some of the most experienced users in the country. Damon System braces allow your teeth to move more comfortably and easily than traditional braces. Thanks to these innovative new braces, achieving your perfect smile will be faster and easier than you ever thought possible.
Elastic ligatures create friction and require more force and more frequent adjustments.
Damon braces allow freedom of movement, resulting in faster results with gentler forces.
Better Results In Less Time
With the new Damon System braces, we can achieve terrific results and finish your treatment faster. Depending on your case, this may mean a saving of many months. After analyzing your specific needs, we will be able to provide you with a treatment plan that will have you smiling soon!
Damon System braces are very precise and effective. With this system, we can reduce the need for many of the time consuming and complicated procedures that are used with traditional braces.

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly on older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns. While they are visually less prominent, they do require more attention to oral hygiene as ceramic braces are larger and are more brittle than their metal counterparts. For these reasons, ceramic braces tend to be used more on upper front teeth than on lower teeth.
