3D Printing for Clear Aligners

Rosenzweig Orthodontics – Central Oregon’s Smile Specialist

Clear aligner treatment has revolutionized orthodontics by offering a discreet, comfortable way to straighten teeth. At Rosenzweig Orthodontics, we are taking this innovation a step further by bringing the manufacturing process directly to our patients in Central Oregon. We are proud to utilize advanced in-house 3D printing technology to create custom clear aligners right here in our office.

This commitment to technology means our patients in Bend, Redmond, Burns and Sisters receive more efficient, flexible, and personalized care. By harnessing the power of 3D printing, we are making the journey to your perfect smile faster and more convenient than ever before.

Faster, More Convenient Treatment

Traditionally, when a patient chooses clear aligners, their digital impressions are sent to an outside lab. The lab then manufactures the aligners and ships them back, a process that can take several weeks. This waiting period can delay the start of your treatment and slow down progress if new aligners are needed.

By using our own 3D printers, we cut out the middleman entirely.

  • Start Sooner: We can create your first set of aligners right after your treatment plan is finalized, allowing you to begin your smile transformation almost immediately.
  • No More Waiting: If you need a replacement aligner or a mid-course correction, we don’t have to wait for shipping. We can print a new aligner for you right away, keeping your treatment on track without interruption.

How It Works

Our in-house 3D printing process seamlessly integrates with our other digital technologies to create a smooth and efficient workflow.

  1. Digital Scan: First, we use our iTero® Element™ scanner to capture a highly accurate 3D model of your mouth. No messy putty impressions are needed.
  2. Treatment Planning: Dr. Rosenzweig uploads this digital model into specialized software to design your custom treatment plan. He maps out the precise movement of each tooth from its current position to its final, ideal alignment.
  3. Printing Your Aligners: Once the plan is complete, we send the digital files directly to our 3D printer. The printer meticulously builds your custom aligners layer by layer, turning the digital design into a physical appliance ready for you to wear.

The Same High-Quality Aligners

A common question we hear is whether our in-house aligners are as effective as those from major brands. The answer is a resounding yes. Our 3D-printed aligners are fabricated from the same durable, high-quality, and crystal-clear medical-grade materials used in traditional aligner therapy.

You can be confident that you are receiving an appliance that is just as strong, effective, and discreet as its more expensive and time-consuming counterparts. Our process simply delivers this top-tier quality with greater speed and efficiency.

Designed for Your Lifestyle

Life happens. Aligners can get misplaced, accidentally thrown away, or even damaged. In a traditional workflow, losing an aligner could mean a significant delay while you wait for a replacement to be ordered and shipped.

With our in-house 3D printing capabilities, this is no longer a major setback. If you lose an aligner, just give us a call. We can quickly access your digital files and print a replacement, often having it ready for you the same or the next day. This flexibility provides peace of mind and ensures a minor mishap doesn’t derail your progress.
